Rules & Guidelines

Last updated: 19 June 2026

A few simple guidelines that keep BizKids Market safe, fair, and properly kid-led. Please read these with your young entrepreneur before market day — most of it is common sense, but it helps to be on the same page.

1.Who runs the stall

BizKids Market is a kid-led event. Young entrepreneurs do the selling, the talking, the handling of money, and the packdown wherever they're old enough to do so safely. Parents and guardians are there to supervise, help with anything heavy, and step in when needed — but the stall belongs to the kid. If a parent ends up running the show, the magic is gone.

2.What you can sell

We welcome handmade products, baked goods, original art, simple services (face painting, lemonade, photo prints), and pre-loved items that have been upcycled or given a clear creative twist. Everything sold should be made, prepared, or meaningfully improved by the young entrepreneur themselves.

Not permitted
  • Anything resold without value added (no flipping pantry items or bulk lollies)
  • Anything unsafe, sharp, or age-inappropriate for a family event
  • Alcohol, vapes, weapons, or replicas of any of the above
  • Animals (live or otherwise)
  • Items that infringe trademarks or copyright (e.g. unlicensed character prints)

3.Food stalls

Food is welcome and always a crowd favourite, but it comes with extra responsibility. All food must be prepared in a clean kitchen, kept at safe temperatures, and clearly labelled — especially with allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten, eggs). If you're selling anything potentially hazardous (cream, meat, dairy-based fillings), let us know on registration so we can advise on Western Australian food-handling basics. A simple ingredients label on every product is a great habit to build early.

4.Stall setup and packdown

Specific bump-in and bump-out times will be sent to registered stallholders before each market. As a general rule, plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before the market opens, and to be packed and gone within 30 minutes of close. Stalls cannot be packed down early — once you're in, you're in for the duration.

5.Pricing and payments

Young entrepreneurs set their own prices. We encourage clear, visible pricing on every item so customers don't have to ask. Cash is the easiest payment method at kids' markets, and we strongly recommend a simple PayID or QR code linked to a parent's account as a backup for cashless customers.

6.Behaviour and code of conduct

We expect everyone at BizKids Market — kids, parents, and visitors — to be kind, honest, and inclusive. That means no aggressive selling or chasing customers down the aisle, no putting down other stalls, and no unsafe behaviour around other people's setups. Treat every stallholder, customer, and volunteer the way you'd want to be treated.

7.Marketing your stall

Promote your stall as much as you like — flyers at school, posts on family socials, word of mouth. Tag @bizkidsmarket and use the event hashtag so we can share your post. The more buzz your young entrepreneur creates, the better their day usually goes.

8.Weather

BizKids Market runs rain, hail, or shine where the venue allows. If extreme weather genuinely makes the event unsafe, we'll postpone and contact all registered stallholders by email and on our Facebook page as early as we reasonably can. Always check your inbox the morning of the market.

9.Cancellations and refunds

If you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to a family on the waitlist. Where a stall fee applies, our refund policy will be set out in your registration confirmation. In the rare case BizKids Market itself cancels an event, stallholders will be offered a transfer to the next market or a full refund.

10.Photos and media

We love capturing the day. By attending BizKids Market, you agree that photos and short video may be taken of stalls and the general event for use on our website and socials. If you'd prefer your child not be photographed, let us know on registration or at the bump-in desk and we'll make sure to respect that.

11.Cleanup

Leave your stall space cleaner than you found it. Bin your own rubbish, take any leftover stock home, and do a quick sweep before you leave. It's a small thing that makes a huge difference to the venue — and to whether they'll have us back.
